Often in life we are faced with negative situations, some heavier than others, but it is how we deal with them that makes us who we are. As a designer I am often faced with negatives.
"This is too small"
"Can we make this bigger?"
"Personally it's not for me"
Turning these into a positive were hard for me at first. I did not fully understand how negatives comments could be turned into positives until I looked into my own interests to make a sophisticated connection. Here we see a logo that is little more than a green blob upon first examination but if we look at the negative space that the color green is creating then and only then do we get the big picture.

Once we see the negative space we are elated and overjoyed by the visual equation we just completed and the green blob that we at first had no respect for becomes a smart and witty logo. This is often the case with comments that come across a designers desk, at first a comment might be considered negative but after understanding where the client is coming from, and molding their opinion into something that works well for them than you make them happy as well making an effective marketing piece.
